Functional Analysis

This page is exclusively for the MMATH18-203 (Functional Analysis) of the SDC, second semester MA/MSc students of the Department of Mathematics, University of Delhi. All the notes given below are NOT self-containing. You may refer to the book "Erwin Kreyszig, Introductory functional analysis with applications, Wiley India Pvt Ltd., 2007" for definitions, proofs, and examples.

Important Notice

Update in class timing: From 14-06-2021 onwards, our class will be at 2.00 pm (Monday-Friday).

The rescheduling of the class is aimed at the possibility of students attending the MTTS 2021 programme which is being live-streamed on YouTube (all 3 levels). Google Classroom

There is a dedicated 'Google Classroom' for the SDC Functional Analysis students. Install the 'Classroom' app on your smartphone or visit https://classroom.google.com/, and join the classroom using the code 'pthozik'. You can post your questions and queries through this medium. I'll try to attend the queries asap; at the same time, students can help each other too.

Online Class

The online classes are scheduled on 'Google Meet' from Monday to Saturday from 9.00 am to 10.00 am. Use the following link to join the meeting (Please join the meeting after logging into your registered email address):

You can either open the above link on your browser, or install the 'Meet' app by Google on your smartphone, and join the meeting using the code 'huc-dugj-phy'.

Parts of the lectures may be uploaded on YouTube or Google Drive (check Google drive for the latest ones).
