MTTS is a summer training programme in India for Mathematics, started at the B.Sc. (undergraduate) level, aimed to expose bright young minds to mathematics and equip them better for PhD studies. It is funded by NBHM, India. The director is Prof. S. Kumaresan of University of Hyderabad.

Tata Institute of Fundamental Research (TIFR) conducts annual summer programmes in which talented students are introduced to research activities in the areas of Astronomy, Biology, Chemistry, Computer Science, Mathematics, and Physics. The selected students are expected to work on a research project under the supervision of a TIFR researcher.

Harish-Chandra Research Institute (HRI) conducts the Summer Programme in Mathematics (SPIM), a scheme for introducing basic mathematics at Master's level in an interesting way to the highly motivated undergraduates or first-year postgraduates from various colleges/universities. The programme involves intensive lectures on Algebra (Group Theory, Field Theory and Galois Theory), Analysis (Measure Theory, Basic Complex Analysis) and Topology (Set Topology up to homotopy theory) over a period of three weeks in the summer of every year.

Summer Fellowships are awarded to bright students and motivated teachers to work with Fellows of the Academy on research-oriented projects. The programme is being conducted jointly by the Indian Academy of Sciences, the Indian National Science Academy and the National Academy of Sciences.

Institute of Mathematical Sciences (IMSc) has a limited programme for highly motivated bachelors and masters students interested in research in the areas of Theoretical Physics, Mathematics, Theoretical Computer Science and Computational Biology to visit the Institute over their summer vacation. In addition, IMSc also accepts students through the summer program organized by the joint Indian Academies of Science.

ATM Schools were launched by the NBHM in May 2004. The purpose of these schools is to provide training in core subjects in Mathematics to PhD students, young researchers and teachers.
